a simple sampler, which is ideal for when you want to take a simple sound and quickly transform it in to a playable instrument. Specimen does much more than just playing samples, though — it can sculpt and shape them with envelopes, filters, and LFOs, just like you’d find in Xsynth.

Specimen is an open source, MIDI controllable audio sampler for Linux. Features include:

   * Up to 64 patches with 8 notes of polyphony each
   * Fast, high quality pitch scaling
   * Linear ADSR volume envelopes
   * MIDI/jack-transport syncable LFOs
   * Low pass filter with resonance
   * A variety of direction-independent playback modes
   * A zoomable sample editor for loop and play points
   * Portamento

Descarrego specimen-0.5.1.tar.gz

Abans de compilar, és necessari PHAT, que són uns widgets de GTK orientats a aplicacions d'àudio:

./configure
make
sudo make install

tar -xzvpf specimen.tar.gz
cd specimen
./configure
make
sudo make install

dóna un error en compilar, però es pot fer

sudo apt-get install specimen

(instal.la la versió 0.5.2)

però hi ha un problema de dependències.
