En la LAU (Linux Audio Users) mail list sorgeixen crítiques a Ubuntu Studio i el seu kernel. Hi ha altres distros que ofereixen el kernel rt:
- Debian (hi ha tutorial per convertir el Debian a rt)
- 64Studio
- Musix
- CCRMA (Fedora)
They have much more stable and active community around them, I really do not know. Right now Ubuntu Studio is not so strong, I think. (Juny 2009)
